How do I downloaded animu?

You need a BitTorrent client to download our releases. I personally use Deluge, but uTorrent and rTorrent seem to be popular alternatives. The are many other clients, though. Simply download the .torrent files and open them with your client.

How do I play the video files?

My videos are (usually) encoded in h.264, and the audio is usually in Vorbis--sometimes in AC3 or MP3--and all packed in an MKV container. You'll need to install codecs that supports the playback of those. On Linux, MPlayer and its frontend SMPlayer work well enough. On Windows, installing something like the CCCP should work, along with the included Media Player Classic. Alternatively, you could use the AIDS-infested VLC on both platforms. Macfags are on their own; I have no fucking clue.

What do I do with the subtitles scripts?

Just put them in the same directory as your raw video and renaming them to match each other, and the subtitles should magically appear on playback.

What, you mean other than using them to view subs on your previously downloaded raws? Gee, I dunno. I suppose you could translate them into another language. I notice that some people are already doing that. You can change the font size and/or styles with the assistance of software like Aegisub, or simply editing the file with a text editor if you're hardcore enough. If you find any other use for them, then you may go ahead and use them for whatever you want. If you intend to publish my scripts for whatever reason, linking back to me would be nice, but not really mandatory.

The subtitles don't show! Halp!!

Did you install the software listed above? That should be enough to render the subs. Check your player and see if they're turned on. The subtitles may be turned off by default for some reason.

Will you sub this super special awesome show please?

Eh. Maybe. Try posting about it in the request thread to bring the show to my attention. Just because you request doesn't mean I will sub whatever you want. I will only sub a show if I find it relevant to my interests (or the interests of other group members). If someone else is subbing the show, then I will not do it just because they're too slow for you. That's just a waste of manpower. The only time I'd agree is if they haven't released an episode in a very long time (over six months or so).

If you're a translator (lulz) and want something subbed, I may be able to help in subbing the show. Just post about it the request thread with your contact info or contact me (DMS) yourself.

Well, translators are always welcome. For other positions, we will mention them when we need them.

Why are you taking so long to release anything?

Well, I don't have much of a life, so I simply just get lazy or get myself busy with video games or anime or whatever. Some of us do actually have real life issues, though (school, etc). You'll just have to be patient.

Are these questions really frequently asked or are you making them up?
